Do any of our OLF sponsors sell a vacuum clamping system, particulary the type used for glueing braces? I know LMI has one but I'd prefer to buy from a sponsor if available. I don't think I've seen any of our sponsors advertising one. If not, are there any other suppliers? I'd like to buy a completed system if possible as opposed to buying the components and building myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

John

I bought one on Ebay a while back...I'll try and look up the seller if you're interested.

If you haven't checked out joewoodworker.com yet, you're in for a treat.
Great site & good prices on vacuum equipment.
If you're on a budget, you can use a refrigerator or freezer compressor instead of a "real" vacuum pump. I use two old freezer compressors in my rig & it works very well. The recovery time is a bit slow with only one compressor.
The only place i was able to find soft rubber sheet suitable for a clamping press was LMI. And... No, none of these guys are sponsors.

I have gotten sheeting from McMaster Carr.

it is ~1/16" thick. It works great.

I bought mine from VacuPress, which is a great company to deal with.
